STERLING SILVER is a binary Silver alloy consisting of:
925 parts/1000 Pure Silver and
75 parts/1000 Pure Copper.
Annealing temperature: 750 degrees Celsius.
Melting Temperature: 950 degrees Celsius.

The Synthetic stones are commonly of the corundum (Saphire)type
or the Spinel type. These are grown inside a
flame, from their relevant chemicals. The
resulting stone is termed a "BOULE". In recent
years more stones are simulated by laboratory grown
"NATURAL" crystals. In other words they are grown
from the same chemicals as nature uses, and are
therefore almost impossible to tell from the
natural stones.
Cubic zirconia comes in so many colours that many
stones are now also imitated by this synthetic.
You can usually tell because they are just too
brilliant.

FORGING is a method of deforming metal with a hammer on an anvil.
In the case of Sterling Silver and the Karat Golds, this
must be done COLD! If a hot forging is attempted the
precious metals will just crumble. In their PURE form
Silver and Gold will allow HOT forging, but there is no
benefit to be gained.
