Automatically every 15 minutes, the Nullamanna Weathercam captures a digital image of the current sky and weather conditions at Nullamanna, but only during daylight hours and if the computer is running and connected to the Internet, and the Nullamanna Weathercam is online, (normally during weekday afternoons, weekends, public holidays, and may also include, sick day's and other day's I'm just not at work).

Every 10 minutes (600 seconds), a Javascript program will automatically refresh the WHOLE webpage and simultaneously update the Nullamanna Weathercam image to the latest weathercam image captured. Alternately, if you can't wait, or if the webpage, and/or the weathercam image will not refresh/update properly, please use the refresh button on your toolbar to refresh the page, manually.

In seconds, the whole webpage will be refreshed and the Nullamanna Weathercam should be updated to the latest weathercam image capture.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * DISCLAIMER * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The daily meteorological observations and other meteorological related data contained within this webpage, have been sourced from my own amateur meteorological observation equipment and my personal observational experience.

The meteorological equipment used to monitor the weather conditions and record some of the meteorological data includes, a "Stevenson Screen", a Wind Anenometer and a "Nylex 1000" Raingauge.

Click on an image to see a larger, more detailed version

The "Stevenson Screen" contains within it,

The Wind Anenometer, is connected to a Calibrated, Electronic (Digital) Speedometer and they are both mounted upon a 3.5 metre high mast. The Electronic (Digital) Speedometer is used to measure and record the speed of the wind, 24 hours a day, this information is retained within it's own internal memory. The daily average windspeed and maximum windgusts are then retrieved and logged at the 6:00pm observations. A directional windvane, is also mounted upon the same 3.5 metre high mast, directly opposite the Wind Anenometer and it is used as a reference guide for the current direction of the wind, at that moment in time. It does not have the ability to record the average wind direction, or directional trend, for that day. A cardinal compass point guide, that has been accurately aligned with a magnetic compass, is positioned directly beneath the windvane's central mounting bracket and pivot point and it is used to ascertain the direction the wind is coming from.

The meteorological observations, at the property "Mattakana" are read and logged daily, at 6:00am and 6:00pm respectively. Rainfall measurements, and any thunderstorm activity, is thenposted on this website after the 6:00pm daily observational readings have been recorded.

While all possible endeavours are continually made to ensure the daily meteorological observations and the calibration of the meteorological equipment is as accurate as possible, the meteorological observations and equipment the data is obtained from and then posted on this webpage, has not been, or is implied to be, quality controlled by the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology (or any other meteorological organisation), as the meteorological equipment used, is not of a typical meteorological standard. The author of this website will not vouch for the accuracy of any meterological information posted within this webpage. Any meteorological data contained within this webpage, should be considered as amateur in nature, and should not be used for any business, professional or commercial purposes, and / or applications. The author of this website will not accept responsibility for any injury, whether it be personal, or third party, that may be caused, by using the meteorlogical information contained within this website. This website is regularly maintained solely for the purposes of meteorological curiosity for the local and surrounding area inhabitants.

Where's Nullamanna?

______________________________________________

The property that the weather observations are observed at, is called "MATTAKANA" (formerly, "NAHWEENA" ), a 177 acre, rural property, located within the small locality of Nullamanna, approx. 22.25km, NNE of Inverell, in the North-West Slopes & Plains Weather District of the Northern New England - North-West Region of New South Wales. The altitude of the property is approximately 640 metres / 2099 feet above sea level and it is located on the North-Western Slopes of the Great Dividing Range, approximately a third of the way along the Ashford Road (Main Road 137) travelling north, to Bukkulla (from Nullamanna, 12km. from Inverell, 35km) and Ashford (from Nullamanna, 36km. from Inverell, 58km).

The property "MATTAKANA", lies approximately 15kms from an Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology's Weather District boundary line dividing the Northern Tablelands Weather District and the North-West Slopes and Plains Weather District. The current weather conditions or forecast information posted by the Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology for the Northern Tablelands - Inverell (which also includes Glen Innes, Tenterfield and Armidale) should therefore also be considered as applicable for the Nullamanna area, rather than the North-West Slopes and Plains (which includes the towns of Moree, Mungindi, Tamworth and Walgett).
