(*) listed in the NSW Threatened Species Act.
Lesueur's Tree Frog or Booroolong Frog? (A single adult male was collected by FATS from the creek above the spring dam at Oolong and classified as Lesueur's Tree Frog by Dr White).
Lesueur's Tree Frog and Booroolong Frog are morphologically very similar. Lesueur's Tree Frog typically has a distinct black stripe passing through the eye and over the tympanum to the shoulder while Booroolong Frog has a less distinct stripe. Observations in southwestern NSW suggest that they have allopathic distribution (One is not found where the other is). The occurrence of the Booroolong Frog has been confirmed in our region at Burrinjuck, near Yass. If this species occurs at Oolong a recovery plan will be undertaken in conjunction with
NPWS.
